Second Year of the Program

Now in its second year, the Imaging for Impact Award recognizes and celebrates imaging teams’ contributions to keeping care local and improving patient outcomes. Innovators, leaders, technologists, sonographers, and healthcare team members from across the spectrum of care provision are encouraged to apply.

“As someone who has spent years on the front lines of imaging, from hands-on patient care to leading teams, I’ve seen firsthand the amazing work and creative problem-solving that define this profession,” said Brian Bradfield, COO of Cassling. The initiative aims to highlight professionals who often work behind the scenes of diagnosis.

Last Year’s Finalists Inspire Innovation

The inaugural edition surfaced a variety of innovative efforts. Finalists included Clearwater Valley Health for creating a mobile mammography program and Nebraska Medicine for recruitment and retention achievements. The winner was Children’s Health of Plano, Texas, for their inspiring effort to make the MRI experience more accessible for hearing-impaired patients.

Such initiatives are particularly relevant as patient experience becomes a competitive differentiator for imaging centers, and technological modernization must go hand in hand with humanized care.

Significance for the Radiology Sector

The award highlights an often-overlooked aspect in radiology technology discussions: the human factor. While the industry focuses on AI, automation, and new equipment, it is the teams within departments that make the daily difference for patients. Recognizing best practices can inspire other institutions to adopt similar approaches.

For imaging centers seeking operational excellence references, following initiatives recognized by programs like Imaging for Impact provides practical insights into innovation in diagnostic imaging patient care processes.
